Brussels Sprouts Curry

I learned this way of cooking Brussels sprouts from my MIL and since then I have been hooked. Its quick, easy and tastes great. What more do you need?

 

 

 

Brocolli Sprouts Curry

Ingredients: 

Brussels Sprouts – 10 to 12 (Serves 2)

Oil – 2 teaspoons

salt to taste

mustard seeds – 1 tsp

urud dal – 1 tsp

red chilli powder – 1 tsp

turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Curry leaves – 1 spring

Preparation:

1. Chop Brussels Sprouts finely like how you would chop a cabbage

2. Heat oil in a kadai in medium

3. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat to low and  add mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds splutters, add urud dal

4. When the dal turns golden brown add Brussels sprouts, salt,  turmeric powder, red chilli powder, curry leaves and saute

5. Do a taste check and adjust salt/ chilli powder after 5 minutes

6. transfer to a serving bowl. Tasty Brussels sprouts curry is ready is a good accompaniment for a south Indian meal with sambar/ rasam
