Hummus is probably the most popular Middle Eastern vegetarian food. I had always wanted to try this recipe but my hectic work schedule kept me off. Finally I had the chance to make it and we relished it.



1. Chickpea/ Chenna Dhal – 1 Cup

2. Garlic – 2 pods

3. Green Chillies – 1

4. Olive oil

5. Water

6. Salt

7. Lemon juice

Method of preparation:

1. Soak chickpeas overnight and boil them in a pressure cooker with little salt

2. Blend the boiled chickpeas, garlic, green chillies, salt (if required) and lemon juice

3.  Drizzle olive oil and serve as a dip for chips or toasted bread
