(Serves 2)


Raw Rice : 2 cups

Moong Dal: 1/2 cup

Jaggery: 2 cups

Milk : 1 cup

Ghee: 1 cup

Cashew nuts, Elachi : 50 gms each

How to Make

a. Roast rice and moong dal for 5 mins.

b. Rinse the mixture with water and drain water.

c. Add milk and 4 cups of water.

d. Pressure cook the mixture(3 whistles).

e. Add 1/4cup water to jaggery and mix well and strain the mixture.

f. Boil the jaggery and water mix and add the pressure cooked rice dal mixture.

e. Mix them well.

g. Saute cashew and elachi in little ghee and add that to the pongal.

h. Add some more ghee and serve hot.
